The logo design process starts with the questionnaire found on the HIRE page. Through the questionnaire I learn about you and your company and what you are looking to have designed.
Before I begin to design for you I will send you a contract using HELLO BONSAI, a online contract service where you can sign contracts electronically, payment is also handled through hellobonsai using paypal. I require a down payment of 25% – 50% of the total amount before I start.
I spend several hours researching your direct and indirect competition. Knowing the market is essential to create a successful brand.
2. Ideation & sketching
I put my pen to the paper and start fleshing out ideas. I will send 2-5 rough ideas.
3. Narrowing down
I like to narrow down the ideas I have shown to 1-2 directions, the fewer the better.
If you have any requests and I believe they are viable I will adjust accordingly
It is time to decide which direction to go forward with.
6. Refinement & Completion
If there is still some minute changes needed.
7. Final files
Files in the following formats are prepared: AI/EPS/PDF/JPEG/PNG/TIF.
8. Payment and delivery of files
As soon as I get confirmation on the payment I will provide a link to the final files and a signed Copyright Transfer Form. The final files will be delivered via dropbox and shared for 2 weeks after final payment.
Logo design is not an exact science, it is hard to give an accurate timeframe due to the uncertainty behind when I come up with a winning concept that we both agree upon. A project may take a week up to a full month or more depending on scope, correspondence etc.
